Share the Spare

Alex Gallo and John Rettenmeier, Share the Spare, Support Team Rotten and AlexThis is a flyer put together by Pictures by Pape for the wristbands they created for Al and Rotten

Would you buy a used kidney from Johnny Rotten?

Well, fortunately, you don't have to answer that question, but Alex does. And, as a matter of fact, he would be more than happy to receive a kidney from his "Rotten" Uncle John :-)

As explained in the short description above, they are very close to making that happen.

Switching gears ever so slightly, let's talk about the wristbands. One of the cool things about a great idea is that you can't always trace the conception; Who came up with the idea? Who said something that sparked something else? Well, it doesn't really matter. Nancy gets the credit for designing and ordering them, but the idea was something that was bantered about between the Rett siblings. Pretty impressive lot, huh?!!

The concept behind the wristband is simple...Raise awareness, act as a symbol of community prayer and to have some fun. Nothing too complicated! That being said, we never leave anything as simple. Since receiving them, and passing them out, they have been appearing in public places; and, of course, we have some pictures to share.

We would like to qualify this gallery by saying that we are not big fans of retouching photos from cell phones. We would much rather work on one of Nancy's luscious studio shots, but we love Al, so why not?

Speaking of Al, feel free to check out Al's blog. And if you would like to get your hands on one of the cool donor green wristbands, contact Ruth, Nancy, John or Joe. And, better yet, if you would like to add a photo to our gallery, feel free to email the full resolution photo to cj@picturesbypape.com.

Wear, Care and Prayer...that John can share the spare!
