We have mentioned doing a blog displaying the backdrops that we are using for photographs in our home studio, and are finally getting around to it...
When CJ first suggested backgrounds (more accurately, purchased without permission,) Nancy wasn't too keen on the idea. (Whoops, another potential marital malady - when will I learn!) But, Nancy, being the open-minded woman and dutiful wife that she is, was willing to give the backgrounds a chance. After we received the first couple, and took a few shots, we were pleased with the quality and the interesting photos we were getting. (Whew, close call - dodged another bullet, dude!) CJ, trying to parlay that early success, purchased a couple more backdrops. (More dangerous living.) When they got here Nancy thought they were cheesy...until she took some pictures. (Thank you Lord, Thank You!)
Getting back to the point of this blog, below are the cut sheets we use to keep the backgrounds organized. We've tried to keep it short, but clicking on any of the thumbnails will take you to a slideshow of the backdrops and a few photos that we shot against Black, Blue and White paper. If you want to see how they look with people, feel free to browse through some of our Galleries or recent Blogs. Also, for interested parties, we put together a screen cast tutorial on how to order cards from the Pictures by Pape website. There is a link near the bottom of the page.

We appreciate the number of people who have been following our blogs, the interest many of you have in what we are doing and all the positive comments and support we have received. We are really excited that we have scheduled a number of photo shoots before the Holidays, but we have not got anywhere near capacity. We have been trying to keep our schedule clear, and can be available to shoot most nights or during the weekends. (Not to beg, but Nancy IS happiest when she is taking pictures, so do a guy a favor :-)
If you are interested in stopping by for some pictures, give us a call. We can do something quick if that's what you are looking for or, if you are interested in a full studio session against any number of backgrounds, we are game for that too! We can keep rates flexible depending on your needs. As stated earlier "The Shooter" is most happy when she is firing her Canon. "The Light Brigade" is getting very efficient at setting up the studio and the photo editor has been honing his skill as a "Cosmetic Surgeon."
We are doing a direct mailing and will put this out on our Facebook and Google+ pages to let people see the backgrounds and know that we offer Christmas Cards on our website. While we love to take pictures, and get a big kick out of seeing our photos on your cards, we can also work with your photos if you want to email us something. We did several of those last year, and enjoyed sprucing up photos for clients.
We know ordering anything online can be a little stressful (and we want to do what we can to make the world a happier place,) so threw together this screen cast tutorial on how to order Christmas Cards from our website:

Hopefully you find this information helpful, and hopefully we see some of you through our lenses, on our computer screens and printed on Pictures by Pape in the very near future.
